Local Farmers Markets: A guide to the Auburn-Opelika area’s best farmers markets



Opelika Farmers Market
1. O Grows Farmers Market 
When: Tuesdays from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Location: 1103 Glenn Street, Opelika AL 
The Opelika Grows Farmers Market is located across the street from the Cultural Arts Center on Glenn Street, near the community garden in Opelika. Come walk around the square each Tuesday this summer from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. to find fresh, local produce ranging from heirloom tomatoes to collard greens. You may even find some fresh bread, homemade ice cream or local honey. Depending on the year's crop, the market may continue through September or until produce is depleted. Auburn Farmers Market
2. Acre’s Farmers Market 
When: Wednesdays from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Location: 210 East Glenn Ave, Auburn AL 
The Acre Farmers Market occurs weekly on Wednesdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. until the end of summer. Come enjoy complimentary cocktail tastings and pimento cheese while supporting local farmers.  Located at the Acre restaurant, the Market often features berries, cucumbers, corn, clover, grits, honey, jam & jellies, kombucha, onions, peppers, peaches, squash, taters and tomatoes. AU Farmers Market
3. The Market at Ag Heritage Park 
When: Thursdays from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Location: 925 Camp Auburn Road, Auburn AL 
The Market at Ag Heritage Park is an open-air, growers-only farmers market that operates each Thursday, May-August, at Ag Heritage Park on the Auburn University campus. Hosted by the College of Agriculture, The Market features area vendors offering fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, herbs, ornamental plants and cut flowers as well as locally produced jams and jellies, baked goods, soaps, honey, goat cheese and more. Now in its 12th season, The Market at Ag Heritage Park gives Auburn University employees and students and all area residents the opportunity to Buy Fresh, Buy Local, directly from the growers. The weekly farmers market is open to the public, and everyone is welcome. It is held rain or shine, unless severe weather poses a danger to vendors and customers. Summer in Auburn Opelika

It is anything but a slow summer here! Although we have been hit with some rain the last few weeks, there are still plenty of great activities and events just around the corner that we hope to enjoy with some beautiful weather!

The Market at Ag Heritage Park in Auburn

The Market at Ag Heritage Park is every Thursday, from 3-6 PM, through August 22.

The open-air growers'-only farmers market, located on the Auburn University campus at the corner of Lem Morrison and Donahue drives, was established in 2005 and in the years since has become a favorite summertime tradition for the Auburn community. Hosted by the College of Agriculture, The Market features area vendors offering an abundance of seasonal, fresh-from-the-garden fruits and vegetables and other goods that range from fresh-cut flowers to goat cheese.

Opelika Farmers Market

Auburn University Club Summer Bash
Join the Auburn University Club for their Summer Bash on July 20th from 4-8 PM. The event is open to members and to the public. The cost is $25 per person and will include food stations such as Country Low Boil, Ceviche Station, Taco Bar, and BBQ station. Our friends at Blue pants Brewery and Straight to Ale Brewery will provide the libations and Kevin Flannagan and keyboard player Rusty Brown will provide the music for the evening.
